Labour and employment Office, Kathmandu has been established for factory inspection as per Factory and Factory Workers Act 2016 (B.S). Since then it is working to protect rights, interests and benefits of workers and to promote good industrial relation in order to enhance the labour productivity and industrial development of nation.
The Labour & Employment Office Teku, Kathmandu is responsible to ensure the certain provisions of Labour Act 2074 such as types of employment and employment contract, guaranties of stated minimum wages and social security provisions such as provident fund, gratuity and insurance to the workers.
To ensure the appropriate Occupational Safety and Health condition of the workers from work related hazards and risks as per labor act, settlement of individual and collective bargaining disputes are comes under our responsibility.
According to Trade Union Act 2049 and Trade Union Regulation, we are responsible for registration of enterprise level trade union and their administration as well as to elect as authorized trade union for that particular established through conducting the union election.
We are also responsible to act on the assignment and activities stated and directed by Bonus Act 2030 and Child Labor( prohibition and regulation) Act 2056.
